New petals (4, partially)

Below are the explanations and photos needed to embroider a new set of petals (4). I finally managed to finish three of them until today. They are all made on the same principle and I will try to embroider the other three that are a little different for next week.

and as always the traditional reminder…

I remind you that to obtain a beautiful result with patterns made in long and short stitch or satin stitch, it is recommended to first outline them in backstitch with 1 thread.

The satin stitch and the long and short stitch are always made with 1 thread. Decorative stitches are sometimes done with 2 threads but this will be indicated in the explanations.

After outlining the top of the petal in split backstitch with 1 thread and color 963, fill in the area with long and short stitch to the 1st marked line on the design.

Shade the entire upper part of the petal with straight stitches of different lengths and color 899, 1 thread.

After the traditional split backstitch preparation, fill in this area with long and short stitch and the color B5200. Work to the next line marked on the design.

In the same way as before, mark the entire edge of this part of the petal with straight stitches and color 3822. Then add more straight stitches in small groups of 2 or 3 stitches and color 3820.

Embroider 2 broken lines, as shown in the photo, in backstitch with 1 thread and color 730.

Mark the edge of the remaining surface carefully with a split backstitch and color 963. Then fill in the area with long and short stitch and color B5200. Leave the small center space at the bottom of the design empty.

As for the 2 previous parts of the petal, underline the latter with a straight stitch and color 963.

Fill in the small, empty center area, with a few straight stitches and color 963. Add a few touches with color 899 and straight stitches on the edge of this last part as well as on the center dot. Finish the petal by outlining the entire outline with a backstitch using color 3803 and 2 threads.
