Embroidered Pashmina new design

In the series of designs for embroidered Pashminas started last year, here’s a newcomer.

It is made exclusively with 6 threads graded in the same tonal range. It could therefore be described as “quasi-monochrome”, as it uses mainly similar shades of a single color, although the gradient provides a subtle variation in tone.

As usual, you’ll find below the drawing to download HERE as well as the necessary explanations to complete this work easily.

Here’s also the list of threads I used, but once again I invite you to work with the colors of your choice that match your personality.

I used the 3 darkest colors to embroider the stems and leaves and the 3 lightest colors to embroider the flowers.

List of colors used

DMC stranded cotton 918, 919, 920, 921, 922, 3852

General explanations

To embroider this motif I used

– split backstitch with 1 thread

– satin and long and short stitch with 1 thread

– stem stitch with 2 threads

– blanket stitch with 2 threads

– straight stitch with 2 threads

– French knots with 3 threads and 2 wraps

– fly stitch with 2 threads

– Cretan stitch with 2 threads

Before embroidering the large flower, it is necessary to do some preparatory work by outlining the petals in split backstitch with a thread using the lightest color for the upper part of the petals and the fourth in the series (here 921) to mark a separation between the petals.
