A Garden for Pam & Lola
The body takes shape gently
Now that we’ve laid the groundwork for the design, this next step invites us to continue building the cat’s body. Little by little, the shapes take form and the whole composition begins to come together.
Here we’ll focus on the central part of the body, as well as the right hind leg. As with the previous steps, I’ve chosen to work seamlessly, using the same strokes and color palette. This consistency helps maintain visual harmony while allowing the composition to unfold naturally.
Thanks to the detailed instructions from the previous step and the images provided here, the photos alone should be enough to guide you as you continue working.
Rather than going into detail on each stitch again, I thought it best to let you observe the nuances and directions of the embroidery through the images. The close-ups reveal the subtleties of the work: the combination of colors, the choice of gradients, and the orientation of the threads, all part of a delicate balance between precision and freedom that brings the design to life.
In this second step, the pattern is worked across the upper back.
The floral arrangement truly begins to come into its own, creating a dialogue between the various shapes and colors. The foliage complements the body’s movement, while the flowers add touches of light that give rhythm to the whole composition.
Finally, this third image reveals the central part of the body, around the abdomen.
As we continue working on this piece, we can already sense the painting’s overall flow. The floral elements and varied foliage are arranged with precision yet a sense of lightness, giving the whole a feeling of softness and vitality.
With each stitch, the pattern continues to take shape, gradually coming together as a whole. Each element naturally falls into place, striking a subtle balance between structure and spontaneity.
We will continue this work in the next step, where the cat’s body will continue to unfold, allowing even more room for movement and color.
