To embroider these feathers, I used DMC 931, 932, 3753, 946, 741, 742, 3078, 435 and 150 threads.
Outline the different parts of the design with a split backstitch and one thread. Then fill in the upper part of the surface with long and short stitch 1 thread and color 3753. To make the middle part, pad with 2 threads and cover with satin stitch 1 thread and color 932. Work in the same way for the lower part but embroider the satin stitch alternating 3 stitches with color 3753 and 2 stitches with color 931.
Draw a line to mark the middle of this feather.
Work the design from left to right. With color 435 and 2 threads, embroider a wheatear stitch by placing the center chain on the previously drawn line and extending the side straight stitches to the edge of the design. Then insert 2-thread straight stitches with color 742 between the branches of the wheatear stitch.
To embroider the upper yellow feather, pad it with 2 threads and then cover it with satin stitch 1 thread by placing 6 stitches with color 3078 and 4 stitches with color 741. Embroider the lower feather in the same way, alternating 3 stitches with color 150 and 3 stitches with color 946. Embroider a line in split backstitch 1 thread and color 742 between the middle and lower part of the design.
Stretch threads with 2 strands and color 741 to be able to cover the surface with a ribbed spider web stitch.
Begin weaving the ribbed spider web at the bottom of the surface with color 741 and 2 threads to about halfway up the pattern. Then weave 2 rows of weaving stitches with color 742 and finish filling the surface with ribbed spider web stitch and color 946.
Finally, finish the feathers by filling in the remaining empty area with satin stitch and color 435 on 2-thread padding.
