Tuscan tile

three tulips and an arabesque

You will find below the explanations necessary for the realization of these three tulips and the arabesque which accompanies them.

To embroider this design, I used the colors DMC 645,162, and 996 and added two new threads, DMC 772 and 164.

As usual, embroider the outline of the design in split backstitch with 1 thread and color 772.

First, embroider the upper part of the design with 1 thread and also with color 772.

Continue to fill the pattern with long and short stitch and the color 164.

Outline the finished design with split backstitch 1 thread and the color 645.

Outline the following small designs in split backstitch with color 645…

…then cover them completely with satin stitch 1 thread and the same color.

Always start a design by outlining it in split backstitch and 1 thread, here with color 996.

Fill the entire area with long and short stitch 1 thread and the color 996.

Embellish the design with fly stitch and embroider an overcast chain stitch, all with 2 threads.

The three tulips pattern is now complete.

Prepare the split backstitch arabesque work with color 645, taking care to follow the outline precisely.

Cover all the arabesque with satin stitch and the same color.
