This article includes photos and instructions for embroidering the 3 petals on the front of the tulip.
With the right realization, the flower will blossom in three-dimensional space.
To embroider this part of the flower, I didn’t need to add any new colors. It’s important in this work to make a clear difference between the 3 petals, and to highlight the white reverse side that crowns the central petal.
First, mark the reverse side with the white split backstitch and the border between the first and second petals with color 816. Place color 758 at the top of the petal.
Then embroider a few stitches with color 519 under the reverse and continue with color 746.
Finish filling the surface with colors 972 and 816.
To embroider the left petal, start by placing colors 963, 3078, and 3827 in the upper part of the motif, from left to right.
Continue with colors 921 and 3831.
Finish the pattern by filling it with color 816. Also embroider the reverse side of the central petal in white, taking care to respect the direction of the stitches.
Begin work on the right petal with color 963.
Continue with colors 919, 921, and 3831.
Embroider the right edge of the petal with color 746 and place color 961 in the continuation of the already filled-in area.
Finish the petal with colors 3827, 921, and 816. Mark the separation between the 3 motifs with a few small stitches embroidered with color 154.
