Serenity

In this serene landscape, the little solitary house represents a haven of peace and tranquillity, where you can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and connect with the beauty of the surrounding nature.

This small project (13/9cm) is entirely embroidered in satin and long and short stitch with 1 thread. To make it, I used plain DMC cotton with the exception of the backgrounds, for which I chose to use two variegated threads in harmony with the subject as a whole.

This project is an opportunity to work on the needle painting technique in a fun way because the filling in of the motifs is very simple and I preferred to emphasize the fading of the colors rather than the direction of the stitches.

The outlining of each design in split backstitch is absolutely essential for obtaining perfect and precise work.

The mountains

I used DMC 924 thread to embroider the outline of the mountains in stem stitch with 1 thread.                  

To make the inside of the mountains, I used a seeding stitch with 1 thread and favored the use of variegated threads to match the main color palette.
