The ribbon stitch is the most basic of all the ribbons stitches. It is mainly used to make great leaves or petals.

Bring the needle from the back to the front. Hold the ribbon flat and pierce the ribbon in the center. Pull the ribbon down through itself until it curls slightly at the top.

Hold each stitch in place with your thumb till you start with the next one to prevent the ribbon from twisting.
