After outlining the petal with a split backstitch, begin by embroidering the first stitches with color 353.
Continue with color 760.
Following the lines drawn in the pattern, now use color 891.
Extend the work by adding color 350.
Fill generously the surface with color 817…
…and add depth to the petal by finishing with the color 815.

Now fill most of the surface with color 817 but leave some empty spaces…

To succeed in giving this petal its curved aspect, it is important to respect the lines of the design with the direction of the stitches.
Underline the petal as usual with a split backstitch and color 760, making sure to mark the back of the petal as well.
Start by placing color 760 in the upper part of the petal.
Continue with color 891.
As you continue to progress down the surface, add the color 350…
…then using the photo as an example, add the color 817.
Now embroider the pistil shaft with color 819.
Finish filling the surface with color 815.
Fill in the back of the petal with satin stitch and the color 817. Finish by embroidering the stamens with French knots 2 threads 2 wraps and colors 3822, 972, and 892.
