Needle painted Hibiscus Flower 1 Petals c and d Flower 1 petal c This petal is embroidered with colors # 819, 818, 353, 894, 892 and 891. Prepare to work the petal by outlining it in backstitch with color 819 and 1 thread. First, place the color 819 with long and short stitch using the photo as a reference. Continue to fill the petal still in long and short stitch 1 thread with color 818. Continue working down the petal, now adding color 353. Now add movement to the petal by adding color 894. Finish by applying color 891 to the bottom of the petal. Flower 1 petal d This petal is embroidered with colors # 819, 818, 353, 894 and 893. Here is the petal outlined with split backstitch and color 819 before starting to embroider it. Begin work at the outer edge of the design by applying color 819 as shown in the photo. Continue filling in the petal by working inward on the surface with color 818. Finish by filling in the remaining empty areas with color 353. Mark the veins of the petal with color 894 then add a few stitches with color 893.
