Needle painted Hibiscus

Flower 1

Petals a and b

Flower1

petal a

This petal is embroidered with colors # 819, 818, 353, 894, 892, 891 and 816.

Prepare to work the petal by outlining it in split backstitch with color 819 and 1 thread.

First, place the color 819 in long and short stitch using the photo as a reference.

Continue to fill the petal still in long and short stitch 1 thread with color 818.

Continue working down the petal, now adding color 353. Fill in the upper parts that are still empty with color 894.

Embroider the lower red part of the petal in continuation of the work done previously with color 892.

Finish filling the petal with color 891 and finally with a few stitches of color 816 at the end of the embroidery area.

Embroider the pistil when the petal is completely finished. Start with the central part and color 819 then add a few straight stitches on the left and right with color 815. Embroider the stamens in French knots with 2 strands 1 wrap and color 3822 in the lower part than with 2  strands 2 wraps and color 891 in the upper part.

Flower 1

petal b

This petal is embroidered with colors # 819, 818, 353, 894, 892, 891 and 816

I added the color yellow 972 in the already embroidered stamens of petal a.

Prepare the petal by outlining it with a split backstitch and color 819 as before.

Apply the embroidered parts with color 819 as shown in the picture.

Now add generously the color 894.

Continue filling the petal with color 818…

…then with the color 353.

Use color 892 to fill the lower part of the petal.

Embroider the center vein of the petal with a few straight stitches and color 891. Also, highlight the upper parts embroidered with color 894 adding color 891 to give depth to the design.

I added some 2 thread 1 wrap French knots with the new color 972 in the stamens of the previous petal.
