Needle case “Flowerbed”

Interior mounting

Here’s how to assemble the inside of this needle holder.

I’ve tried to describe the procedure in great detail, with plenty of photos for easy assembly.

List of materials required for this assembly (exterior and interior parts)

a piece of fabric for the inside of the needle holder (approx. 20×30 cm) a piece of thick paper or card for the pattern
a piece of thick Vlieseline (I use S520 quality) or any other material that can stiffen your needle holder
a piece of medium-thick wadding
a can of repositionable glue
pins, thread and a sewing needle
water-soluble pencil
textile glue, e.g. Güterman HT2

Here’s how to proceed (prepare 2 identical parts)

After cutting a piece of fabric from the lining to the size of the tracing paper pattern, plus 1 cm for the flap, cut a piece of wadding to the exact size of the pattern. Place this piece on the lining fabric.

Cut a piece of thick paper to the size of the tracing paper and add it to the lining fabric and wadding.

Now fold the fabric over the paper and glue it in place using the textile glue.

Now sew this inner part to one of the finished outer faces of the needle holder, leaving the part’s base open so that a hinge can be inserted.

For the hinge, prepare and sew a piece of fabric approx. 12cm /2cm as shown in the photo.

Slide and sew this piece into the slot at the base of the needle holder left open for this purpose.

Connect the 2 parts of the needle holder by inserting the other side of the hinge into the second side still free.

The assembly of this needle holder is now complete, and all that remains is to add a pretty clasp as a finishing touch. I hope that if you decide to participate in this project, it will be with you for a long time.
