Fantasy flower

Introduction

Here is an introduction to the project I propose to tackle starting next week.

The purpose of this work is to use this engraving and carefully observe the details to transform it into beautiful embroidery.

For this, we will use mainly long and short stitch and we will embellish it if necessary with some traditional stitches such as stem stitch, lazy daisy stitch, or French knot. The laying of the colors will be simple because the threads used are only 12 and are applied in an easy way.

The surfaces to be covered are relatively small, which allows everyone, even non-experts, to undertake this project with confidence and for a result that I am sure will be very satisfactory.

You can download HERE a 3-page document that contains the elements needed to make this flower comfortably.

It contains first the drawing (the original size of the embroidery is 25cm in height) to be transferred on your fabric, then a sheet with this same drawing numbered to facilitate the follow-up of the explanations, and finally, on the third page you will find the engraving to allow you to observe the installation of the colors.

You will notice that I have drawn many dotted lines inside the areas to be embroidered to indicate very precisely the direction of the stitches in the long and short work.

I think I have gathered the necessary elements for the realization of this project for embroiderers of all levels of expertise and I propose to illustrate this tutorial in several chapters and with many photos and detailed explanations.

Here is the list of threads to use
