Petals (1) at the back of the flower

You will find below the explanations and photos necessary to embroider the 5 petals located at the back of the flower.

I remind you that to obtain a beautiful result with patterns made with satin or long and short stitch, it is recommended to first outline them in backstitch with 1 thread.

You will find an illustration in the first photo of this article but I will not refer to it afterward.

The satin stitch and the long and short stitch are always made with 1 thread. Decorative stitches are sometimes done with 2 threads but this will be indicated in the explanations.

Underline the upper part of the petal with backstitch,1 thread, and color 963.

Fill the entire upper part of the petal with satin stitch and color 963.

Add decorative straight stitches over the satin stitch already embroidered with color 899. Then outline the lower white part of the petal with a backstitch using 1 thread.

Fill the upper part of this surface with long and short stitch and the color B5200.

Finish filling this area with color 3822.

Add a few straight stitches in the lower part of the petal with the color 3820.

Finally, outline the top of the petal in backstitch with 1 thread using 2 different colors as indicated by the arrows. The left edges are embroidered with dark thread and the right edges with light thread.
