Small flowers (9)

In the article below are the necessary explanations to embroider the small flowers located in the upper right part of this project (9).

and as always the traditional reminder…

I remind you that to obtain a beautiful result with patterns made in satin or long and short stitch, it is recommended to first outline them in split backstitch with 1 thread.

The satin stitch and the long and short stitch are always made with 1 thread. Decorative stitches are sometimes done with 2 threads but this will be indicated in the explanations.

Embroider the stems in long and short stitch and then outline the leaves with split backstitch 1 thread, all with color 966.

Fill in all the leaves with long and short stitch and color 966.

Add shadows along the stems and in the center of the leaves with straight stitches and color 163.

Reinforce the shading by adding a few straight stitches with the color 730.

Outline the flowers with a split backstitch 1 thread using colors 963 and 899.

Fill in the back part of the corolla of the left flower with satin stitch and the 2 calyxes on the right with long and short stitch, all with color 899.

Now embroider the petals with long and short stitch using color 963.

Embroider the shadows as shown in the photo with straight stitches and colors 899 and 3803.
