Berries (C)

This article focuses on the small berries at the top of the design.

They are embroidered with satin stitch, and I used 5 colors of DMC stranded cotton ranging from very pale salmon to a warm shade of rust.

Making these berries is simple. You need to mark their outlines in backstitch to be able to embroider them precisely, that’s all!

I favored using the darkest tones at the bottom of the design, ending with some of the berries made entirely with the lightest colors.

Several photos below illustrate my work, but I think you’ll find it easier to embroider these motifs by assembling the colors as you please.

With the completion of these berries, the work on the “peripheral” motifs of this project is finished.

It’s important to note that, while remaining in autumnal tones, each group of leaves as well as the berries uses tones from its own particular range of colors.

I thought it would be interesting to publish side-by-side photos of the threads used so far for this work, to illustrate the diversity of tones while remaining within an imposed harmony.

Here are the threads used to embroider these berries.
