The little yellow leaves

This article is dedicated to the small yellow leaves (D) that complete the peripheral decoration of this subject. They are peculiar in their pale colors and offer a strong contrast to the rust-toned leaves already finished.

They are embroidered using a  3-tone yellow long and short stitch technique, using DMC stranded cotton.

To make them, start by marking the outline of each leaf in backstitch with the lightest color (677) and underlining the central vein in stem stitch with the darkest color (728).

Next, embroider the surface of the leaves in long and short stitch, placing the palest color on the edges of the design, followed by the intermediate color for the main part, ending with the darkest color to form the vein. They are all done in the same way.
