Christmas bauble

Stars in square pieces

Here are the first pieces to embroider for this Christmas bauble.

I’ve chosen to start with these small square pieces, as they are numerous (12) and recurrently spread over the surface of the bauble, serving as a link between the various motifs.

They are simple, made using fly stitch, bullion stitch, and with a bead in the center.

I embroidered these 12 pieces using 2 different color combinations, details of which are given below.

This star is embroidered in fly stitch, bullion stitch with 4 threads and a sew-on bead in the center. The bead can be replaced by a ribbed spider web made with 2 threads.

This star is embroidered in the same way as the previous one but with different colors.

Threads used for these stars

Metallic thread n°8 “Au Ver à Soie” gold 002 and copper 021

DMC stranded cotton very dark and light green

Red sew-on beads

To achieve this embroidery, the thread indications will remain very general because the pleasure of this work lies essentially in the choice of colors and materials which will give all its originality to your own creation.

Have fun!
