Christmas bauble

The first octagonal piece

In this article, we’ll discuss making the first wreath in one of the octagonal pieces.

For this, I’ve chosen to work with a mix of materials such as simple stranded cotton, metallic thread, silk ribbon, and beads.

Working this way, the result will be an embroidery full of relief and variation, and very acceptable in terms of completion time.

At the end of this post, you’ll find a photo showing all the materials used to make this wreath… Perhaps this will encourage you to show off the forgotten treasures in your own stash!

Begin the realization of this work by embroidering the fir branches in fly stitch with n° 4 metallic thread.

Next, embroider the leaves in double lazy daisy stitch using 2-thread stranded cotton. Then, add an extra lazy daisy stich of metallic thread to each leaf to add sparkle to the design.

Place 4mm silk ribbon spider web flowers on each large dot of the design. Add a small bead to the center of each flower and other small colored ones, scattering them over the design dots provided.
