Blue birds

Here are the explanations and the picture necessary to embroider these birds.

List of threads used

• For stems and leaves, stranded cotton House of Embroidery n ° 71 Foxtail fern (both colors).

• For berries, stranded cotton House of Embroidery n ° 68A Strelizia.

• For birds, stranded cotton DMC 311, 312, 799 and 746.

List of stitches used

• The stems are embroidered with stem stitch 1 thread.

• The large (light) leaves are embroidered with Cretan stitch 2 threads and the small (dark) leaves with herringbone stitch 1 thread.

• The berries are embroidered with satin stitch 1 thread on a 2 threads padding.

• The birds are embroidered with long and short stitch 1 thread and a French knot 2 threads, 1 wrap for the eye.
