Needle painted Rose part 1
This project is realized with long and short stitch.
The purpose of this work is to carry out a needle painting project.
As usual, I will try to guide you step by step, using many photos and I hope that by following this tutorial you will have fun embroidering this rose easily.
If you haven’t already done it last week, the drawing for this project can be downloaded HERE
You will find the list of colors in the introductory article.
Flower’s top petals
These petals are embroidered with the colors n° B5200, 3609, 3608, 602, 3804, and 3685.
After having edged the top of the petal with split backstitch 1 thread, start embroidering with color 3609.
Finish the bottom of the petal with white B5200 and mark the shadow of the next petal by adding a few stitches to the right with the color 3804.
Start by filling the entire upper part of the petal with the color 3608 and add a few stitches to the right with the color 3804.
Continue by adding color 3609 as an extension of color 3608 and adding color 602 as an extension of color 3804.
Start with the top petal. Border the upper part only with split backstitch then embroider it with a satin stitch and the color 3608 (the stitches are at an angle).
Proceed in the same way for the next 2 petals. Use color 3609 for the middle petal and white B5200 with a few stitches of rose 3609 for the lower petal.
Large petal on the right
This petal is embroidered with the colors B5200, 3608, 3609, 153, 3804, 3685, and 341.
I first started by embroidering the petal on the far right. Not being at all satisfied with the result I decided to undo it. However, I wanted to wait to see it next to the one we are going to embroider now. Please do not let yourself be disturbed by an embroidered part of this petal still visible in the photos!

I am unable to download the pattern; – get a blank black page when I try. Do we have to register for this project?
Hello. I tried in English and in French from the posts and from the menu “patterns” and it works. It is a PDF document. It was downloaded 27 times in French and 21 times in English without problems.
I hope you will manage, best regards
Laurence
Beautiful project. Thanks so much for sharing. Loved it.
Thank you, take care!
I am trying so hard to learn long and short stitch and I understand the concept, but don’t know how long or short my stitches should be. I would appreciate any help that you could share with me. Thank you.
I will try to send you some instructions at your email address during this week
Regards
Thank you, I shall look forward to hearing from you.
