Provence

The left side of the fields and the shadows

With this fifth and final stage of the Provence project, the focus is on the left side of the fields.

Over the weeks, we built this setting piece by piece, allowing the warm colors of the flowerbeds to interact with the darker, more structured presence of the cypress trees. In this final phase, the shadows cast across the path take on particular importance: they are not just a graphic detail, but a real breath of life that gives the whole scene its depth and realism.

To create the left side of the fields, I used the same colors as for the right side, and to embroider the shadows, I added color 57C.

They are embroidered using a straight stitch with 1 thread and color 57C.

In this project, pure technique has taken a back seat to feeling. Provence is not an exercise in virtuosity, but an invitation to translate, with a needle, a personal impression of light, warmth, and movement.

I hope that Provence has been an original and enriching experience for you, and that it has given you the pleasure of exploring embroidery from the perspective of feeling and light.
