Palestrina stitch has its origin in Italy. This stitch is usually used for outlining or bordering purposes. Any type of fabric and thread can be used to do this stitch, but the perle cotton n°8 will give the best knotted effect. If you decide to work with floss cotton use at least 3 threads. Use if possible a n° 7 needle.
Work Palestrina stitch vertically from top to bottom.
Do not over tighten the knot.
