Sweet Christmas
1st part, the embroidery
In this first part you will find the necessary explanations to realize the embroidery of this project and next week, in the second part dedicated to this tree you will find all that concerns the installation of the beads and the crystals used to complete this work.
The pattern of this design can be downloaded in the menu “Patterns 2021“.
All the stitches used in the realization of this work are explained in the menu of this blog in the heading “Stitches“.
The branches
The leaves
To make the 4 different leaves shown in this project I used House of Embroidery stranded cotton in the following colors
Woodland, 69A
Christmas green 58A
Bulrush 3A
Cypress 50C
All these leaves are embroidered with 1 thread satin stitch and color 58A. It is necessary to prepare each design by underlining it with split backstitch 1 thread before applying the satin stitch. This ensures that the edges are clean and add an effect of depth without the need for padding. I used this same technique for all the motifs in satin stitch in this work.
The balls
To embroider these decorative balls, I used House of Embroidery stranded cotton in the following colors
Harvest 64C
Christmas red 40C
Strelizia 68A
These are the smallest balls in this tree and I embroidered them with French knots 2 threads and 2 wraps using color 64C.

Laurence, I’m new to your blog and so grateful that you have it translated into English for ignorant Americans. I absolutely love this beautiful design and cannot wait to start it. Thank you, also for your clear and concise direction. Now, I’m looking forward to your Sunday emails! Merci!!
