The subject of this post is from a project I am finishing up called “Remembering Summertime”.
I chose to propose you to embroider these flowers because even out of context, this pattern is very decorative.
Its elongated shape allows to use it for the decoration of placemats, towels and using it repeatedly to compose beautiful borders.
In short, it’s up to you to let your imagination run free.
Here are the colors used in this example but at the risk of repeating myself, rather favor your own choice.
For the stem and leaves, House of Embroidery stranded cotton 32 Moos, DMC stranded cotton 730 and 733.
For the flower, House of Embroidery stranded cotton 46 Brass (both tones), 63 Clematis and 68 Strelizia and DMC stranded cotton 3822 and 677.
The heart of the flower is made as follows,
The green part with satin stitch 1 thread on a padding of 2 threads, the purple part with blanket stitch 2 threads and the orange dot with satin stitch 1 thread.
You have to start at the bottom of the pattern with green, add the purple part and end with the orange dot.
