Needle painted Tulips
This design is entirely embroidered with long and short stitch.
This embroidery is the 4th in our series of needle paintings.
After the peony, the morning glories and the tit, you chose the tulips among the 3 engravings that I proposed to you. I am delighted because I am sure that this is a design that lends itself particularly well to the technique of needle painting.
As usual, I will guide you step by step with the help of many photos and with your new experience, you will have no difficulty in achieving this project.
The most beautiful needle paintings are made with the most basic embroidery thread, that is simply plain floss cotton.
Taking advantage of the very wide range of colors of the DMC collection, the most widespread in Europe, here is the list of threads that I think I will use to embroider this flower.
DMC stranded cotton 902, 221, 304, 3831, 893, 3833, 742, 225, 819, 746, 3078, 445, 472, 471, 369, 368, 367, 520.
This is a first choice and it is possible that during work we make changes to this palette. Obviously, I will inform you of each modification.
I chose to embroider these tulips on gray linen to bring out all the nuances used from the lightest to the darkest.
And now, get ready as we start embroidering the first petals next week!
