Butterfly, lower wing

You will find below the necessary explanations to make the lower wing of the butterfly.

The threads

To embroider this butterfly, I used the colors

DMC 918, 3776, 722, 3787, 642, 3747, 3840, 3839, 3838, 820

Mark the outline and ribs of the wing with split backstitch 1 thread and color 3787.

Cover the main surface of the wing with long and short stitch using the 3 colors 3840, 3839, and 3840 from lightest to darkest. Leave a small space for small decorative dots of different colors.

Embroider the small triangles with straight stitch 1 thread and color 3776.

The main part of the wing is now finished.

First, mark the colored dots with split backstitch and color 918. Then fill in the remaining area with color 3747.

Cover the dot with satin stitch and color 918.

This intermediate part is now complete.

Embroider the middle part still empty with satin stitch and the color 642.

Finally, finish the wing by embroidering the outer edge with satin stitch and color 3787.
