The woven rose is a very easy pattern to realize and requires no special skill for an amazing result.
Embroider first a 5-branch star in straight stitches with 2 threads with a cotton matching the ribbon color. Secure the thread firmly.
Pull up the ribbon near the midpoint between 2 branches of the star.
Weave the petals circularly. Slide the needle over the first branch then under the second one etc. Keep the ribbon tight in making the first round to have a dense center.. Work the second round more smoothly allowing the ribbon to stand for itself. Continue in the same way until obtaining the desired effect.
Finish by simply pulling the needle on the back and sliding the ribbon in some stitches before cutting.

Thanks for letting us play with some silk ribbon.
