Embroider the stems of the outer feathers with fly\u00a0stitch<\/span><\/a> and 1 thread of Perle silk. Add small straight<\/span> <\/a>stitches<\/span><\/a> with the metallic thread n\u00b04 on each side of the center line.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Embroider the central stem with wheatear\u00a0stitch<\/span><\/a> and the metallic\u00a0thread n\u00b08. The eye is embroidered with satin stitch<\/span><\/a> and the Superfine\u00a0silk 2 strands. As usual, I first made a back<\/span> <\/a>stitch<\/span><\/a> with DMC stranded cotton 1 thread. Then I have\u00a0padded the surface with\u00a0DMC stranded cotton 2 threads, before embroidering with satin stitch<\/span><\/a>. For a nice finish, the eye is lined with a back stitch<\/span><\/a> made with the metallic thread n\u00b04.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The collar is embroidered with interlaced chain stitch<\/span><\/a>. I used the metallic thread n\u00b08 for the chain and the Perle silk with 2 threads for the interlaced part.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The beak is embroidered with ribbed spider web stitch<\/span><\/a> and Superfine silk 3 threads. Start working on 5 threads and when the threads get too close, continue working on 3 threads.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Finish by embroidering Palestrina stitch<\/span><\/a> with Soie d’Alger and 3 threads all around the bodies.<\/span><\/h4>\n

I made the photo before having embroidered a stem stitch<\/span><\/a> also in Soie d’Alger and 3 threads on the line marking the location of the wing. I am sorry for not being able to show it to you.<\/span><\/h4>\n
