In the 5th part of this project we will embroider the wasp in stumpwork.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Place a 1.5 cm wide organza ribbon on the wings of the wasp printed on the fabric. Install the embroidery into the hoop and hold the ribbon with a few dots.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Embroider the outline of the wings with a very fine blanket stitch<\/a><\/span> 1 thread over the couching. Using the downloaded template, reproduce the pattern of the wings on a piece of water-soluble\u00a0stabilizer fabric. Personally I use<\/span> Soluvlies<\/a><\/span> from the Vlieseline brand.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Place this piece of fabric in your hoop covered with 2 pieces of ribbons that will form the wings.<\/span><\/h4>\n

As previously for the butterfly, fix the wire on the outline of the wing using small stitches with 1 thread.<\/span><\/h4>\n

To give a fluid shape to the wing, proceed slowly and avoid bending the wire. Do not forget to leave 2 floating pieces about 1.5 cm at each end of the shape. They will serve as anchors during final assembly.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Embroider a blanket stitch<\/a><\/span> 1 thread over the wire for the contour of the wings.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Carefully cut the wings as close to the blanket stitch as possible but of course avoiding to bite into the thread.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Wipe the wings under lukewarm water to remove the nonwoven film and mop it thoroughly.<\/span><\/h4>\n
