In this small project, we used \u00a0water soluble color pencils and the following\u00a0stitches<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

Stem stitch, fly stitch, straight stitch, French knot, blanket stitch, satin stitch, interlaced chain stitch, raised stem stitch\u00a0and needle weaving.<\/span><\/h4>\n

I do not propose any indications for thread colors because they are dependent on the colors you used<\/span>\u00a0for coloring.<\/span><\/h4>\n

For this project, I used a fun technique that allows realizing a small colored work.\u00a0in a lighter and faster way.<\/span><\/h4>\n

To do this, it is necessary first to color and then to watercolor the drawing.<\/span><\/h4>\n

To facilitate the work, I advise you to block your piece of fabric on a support with some tape.<\/span><\/h4>\n

I use (as a good Swiss citizen) Prismalo pencil of the brand Caran d’Ache but you can use watercolor pencils from other brands (Derwent, Faber-castell, Bic …)<\/span><\/h4>\n

To moisten the color, I use cotton swabs. It allows me not to overflow out of the lines of the drawing.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The petals are embroidered in blanket stitch<\/a><\/span> with 2 threads, fairly spaced and irregular.<\/span><\/h4>\n

First, cover the surface to be embroidered with tight straight stitches<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n

Embroider the inside of each leaf in fly stitch<\/a><\/span> and add straight stitches<\/a> <\/span>of a different color in the spaces between the branches, all with 2\u00a0threads.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The 3 lower petals of the flower are embroidered in stem stitch<\/a><\/span> and blanket stitch<\/a><\/span>, both with 2 threads.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The upper part is surrounded by an interlaced\u00a0chain stitch<\/span> 2 threads and dotted with French\u00a0knots <\/a><\/span>2 threads 2 wraps. I used a needle n \u00b0 7 to get big knots.<\/span><\/h4>\n

First, embroider a simple chain with 2 threads.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The outline of the body is embroidered in stem stitch<\/a><\/span> and then embellished with spaced back stitches<\/a>,<\/span> all with 2 threads.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The same applies to the head that remains empty and whose watercolor background is visible. The eye is formed of a simple chain stitch<\/a> <\/span>1 thread and with a French knot <\/a><\/span>2 threads 2 wraps in the middle.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The beak and legs are embroidered in straight stitch<\/a><\/span> with 2 threads.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The tail is fully embroidered in blanket stitch <\/a><\/span>with 2 threads a little spaced. It is here that we see the utility of having a background of colored fabric.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The narrowest part of the wing is made in satin stitch<\/a><\/span> with 2 threads, the adjacent\u00a0part in raised stem stitch<\/span> (explained below) also with 2 threads. The remaining 2 upper parts are embroidered identically to the tail.<\/span><\/h4>\n
