Here is a photo of a printed fabric from the period called “EDWARDIAN ERA” which I propose to embroider together.<\/span><\/h1>\n

This period extends from the end of the 19th century to the start of the First World War and corresponds to the period called “BELLE EPOQUE” in France.<\/span><\/h1>\n

If I chose to transpose this printed fabric into embroidery, it is because for a very long time, I think that the spectacular patterns represented on these fabrics lend themselves particularly well to the needle art.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Indeed, these designs are generous and often ample; the colors are magnificent, vibrant and the profusion of details makes it possible to use a whole range of stitches available in traditional embroidery.<\/span><\/h4>\n

While surfing on the Internet I discovered that this motif had been printed on backgrounds of different colors. In order to offer this work to a large number of embroiderers around the world, I decided to keep it simple in using the wide range of DMC stranded cottons. I know that they are widespread and thus accessible to all.<\/span><\/h4>\n

It is very difficult to make an accurate choice of colors for such a rich embroidery at the beginning of the work.<\/span><\/h4>\n

I decided to start by embroidering the orchid branch located to the right of the bird to be able to familiarize myself with this work and to “feel the spirit of the subject”.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Here is the list of colors used for this pattern<\/span><\/h4>\n
