Here is a small and easy design to embroider for\u00a0example a greeting card format (12 cm high) that you can achieve in just a few hours. The stitches used are all basic ones and to give a festive feeling to this work, exceptionally, I used a lot of shiny metallic threads from the collection of the Ver \u00e0 Soie<\/em> in Paris.<\/span><\/h1>\n

To allow light and fast embroidery, I used watercolor technique on each ball as we used last year for “Singing bird”.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The outline of this ball is embroidered with stem stitch<\/span><\/a> and<\/span>\u00a02 threads. The motifs inside the ball are made in the following way,\u00a0 with satin stitch<\/span><\/a> for the rhombuses, with blanket stitch<\/span><\/a> for the lower part, with a large lazy daisy stitch<\/span><\/a> and with back stitch<\/span><\/a> for the volutes.<\/span><\/h4>\n

To achieve this result, I used stranded cotton and Perle silk of 2 different shades of red and metallic thread n\u00b08 gold and n\u00b04 red.<\/span><\/h4>\n[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_3″][et_pb_image admin_label=”image 3″ src=”https:\/\/canevasfolies.ch\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/image-3-2.jpg” show_in_lightbox=”on” animation=”off” sticky=”off” border_style=”solid” _builder_version=”3.12″ \/][et_pb_text background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat” background_size=”initial” _builder_version=”3.12″]\n

This pattern is mainly realized with back stitch<\/span><\/a>, with the exception of the small almonds that are embroidered with satin stitch<\/span><\/a> 1 thread and the central star embroidered in straight stitch<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/h4>\n

I used yellow Perle cotton n\u00b08 as well as variegated yellow fine silk thread, n\u00b08\u00a0 metallic gold thread and n\u00b04 metallic copper thread.<\/span><\/h4>\n[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row admin_label=”row” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat” background_size=”initial”][et_pb_column type=”1_4″][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_4″][et_pb_image admin_label=”image 4″ _builder_version=”3.12″ src=”https:\/\/canevasfolies.ch\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/image-4-2.jpg” show_in_lightbox=”on” \/][et_pb_text background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat” background_size=”initial” _builder_version=”3.12″]\n

The outline of this ball is embroidered with stem stitch<\/span><\/a> 2 threads and the remaining\u00a0part with back stitch<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/h4>\n

I used blue stranded cotton and metallic thread n\u00b08 in 2 different shades of blue.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Chains are embroidered with chain stitch<\/span> <\/a>embellished with a back stitch<\/span><\/a> between the stitches. The small stars are all embroidered with straight stitch<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/h4>\n
