Filling stitches
Here are some examples of filling stitches used for large areas by bringing structure to the work.
In the pictures below, you will find the procedure to complete each pattern. However, from there, the choice of threads, their thickness and the arrangement of the stitches will depend on the desired effect.
Stitch n° 1
Form a simple grid using straight stitches.

Place a small stitch on each cross by varying the direction.

Place a second interlaced woven grid that interposes with the first.

Stitch n° 2
Place straight stitches across the entire surface using multiple strands of different colors.

Now weave a new series of straight stitches perpendicular to the first and using the same combination of threads and colors.

Stitch n° 3
Using straight stitches, embroider a simple diagonal grid.

Place a small cross stitch at each intersection.

Add a French knot in each of the small boxes.
