A blue and yellow Easter Egg

Here is the egg expanding the collection of embroidered Easter eggs started in 2018.

This year it takes on a special meaning because of the terrible events that are shaking the world and I didn’t think much about what colors to use.

Indeed, it is yellow and blue and you guessed it, it is dedicated to the Ukrainian people who suffer horribly under the bombs but do not bend.

You may have noticed that usually the download of the proposed templates is linked to a small payment.

Exceptionally the download of this drawing is totally free and you can download it HERE or directly in the menu “Patterns 2022”.

In Ukraine, Easter is a very important holiday with unchanging traditions where decorated eggs are an art rather than a craft…

I hope that you will be sensitive to this approach and that many of you will join me in embroidering this egg.

Here is the list of threads used

House of Embroidery stranded cotton Apple 67

DMC stranded cotton 3078, 3822, 972, 799 and 3325

The stems are embroidered in stem stitch and 1 thread.

The darkest leaves are made with satin stitch and bordered with several rows of stem stitch with the light green, all using 1 thread.

The lighter leaves are embroidered with satin stitch and 1 thread.

The tulips are made entirely in long and short stitch with 1 thread. You must start with the top part of the flower and the lightest yellow to finish with the base of the pattern and the darkest color.

Embroider the dots using the 2 shades of blue. Some are embroidered in spider web with 2 threads, others in satin stitch with 1 thread.
